The April workshop will be outing to the Ammon Nursery and Reminiscent Bonsai, both in the Florence/Burlington area of Northern Kentucky. This free workshop will focus on how to select great nursery stock for bonsai. We will be discussing what to look for and which features are important when examining trees in a nursery setting.
Now is the time to start planning the work you do on your trees this year in preparation for the fall bonsai show in October. Senior members will examine your trees and offer advice on styling and care so that you have a productive growing season.
The meeting will feature bonsai professional Stephanie Renaker-Jansen, owner of Reminiscent Bonsai in Florence, KY. She will be giving a focused presentation on hardy plant bonsai pruning and repotting, with an emphasis on the early spring timing that sets these species up for a strong growing season.

We had a great time with visiting bonsai artist Jason Parrish, who did a demo on a twisted up Scotch/Scots Pine. On Friday we were at the Krohn doing 1-1 styling, and on Saturday we had the Scoth/Scots Pine workshop. We plan to bring him back next year for a follow-up meeting and workshop.
